My Gold Wing Motor Trike Adventure bottom trunk release cable is acting up like it works one minute, then stops the next. I know I have had it for a long time and it served me well but I'm honestly still unhappy about it. I tried manually pulling the cable under the left side panel and got it to open once, but now it's not responding again. The cable is still attached as far as I know, but there's just no release action. How to retension this?

The cable might be stretched or sticking. Try lubing it first and check for any kinks or damage. If it's still acting up, you might need to pull it out to clean or replace it. Look near the latch or handle for an adjustment point to retension it. Also, see if the latch moves freely on its own, ccould be part of the issue

Yeah @Dem1god 's right, try loosening the cable at the release lever, then pull it tight again before retightening the clamp to remove slack. You can also check for any kinks or spots where it might be rubbing or getting stuck. If that doesnt help, the cable might be worn out and need replacing. Have you noticed any rough spots or damage along the cable housing?

On the Honda Gold Wing, intermittent trunk release is usually a binding or stretched cable. Check routing, lube the latch and adjust slack at the inline adjuster. If it still sticks, the cable likely needs replacement.
