Converting a two-wheeler to three

Took a stock '18 Honda Gold Wing and turned it into a trike for my father. The conversion kit was a battle but getting the suspension dialed in was the real challenge. After plenty of late nights, we got it rolling and now he won't ride anything else.

What brand of conversion did you use?

Went with a Roadsmith kit. It was worth every wrench turn. Did you ever consider converting one yourself?

Twelve years in the business, that's no small potatoes! You must have forgotten more about trikes than I'll ever know. Since you're a veteran, what's your take on the independent suspension setups like the one on the Roadsmith kits?

Independent suspension is the finest and provides the best ride. If you've ever had the chance to ride a solid axle trike you may not want one. A solid axle trike is not as nice, if you take a curve in the road you get pushed to the outside and feel like you'll be thrown off and even with good shocks the ride is okay. It's like comparing the ride of a Ford Pinto to that of a Cadillac. Trike have improved over the years from acceptable solid axle to independent suspension that has improved ride quality. Motortrike is the only company that offers solid axle for some bike, but the rest are independent suspension.
