Helmet intercom question

Hope im in the right one. Just installed a pair of Moman H2 intercom headsets on our helmets and ran into a small mystery I can’t seem to solve, the mic has two distinct sides one is rounded with 4 larger holes and the other is flat with a bunch of tiny ones. Theres no clear marking to show which side should face the mouth. I’ve checked the manual and still came up empty. Anyone else using these? Which side is the actual mic input and does it really make a difference in clarity or wind noise? Would love to hear from someone whos tested both ways.

For most mics like that, the flat side with the bunch of tiny holes is the business end – it's designed to be directional and usually has some noise cancellation tech built in. The rounded side is typically the back. Give it a shot with the flat side facing you and see if it clears up the sound and cuts down on wind

Oh man, I've totally been there! So, here's the scoop, that flat side with the little holes? That's where the magic happens, it's your mic input side. Trust me, it really helps with clarity and keeps those pesky wind sounds at bay. Have you tried flipping it around a bit and doing a quick test recording? I'm dying to know which way turned out better for you. Did you end up sounding like a rock star or a kazoo player? Let me know

Did this and turned my life around lol.. Felt like a total newbie all over again phew

Sorry to barge like this unannounced, but is the intercom an essential tool? My wife and I are riding on the same bike, is there a point to invest in something like this?
