I've been lurking for a while, but now I'm ready for a trike. I have a '99 Road King with mild engine upgrades. I want to install a trike kit myself, preferably Motor Trike or Champion. Does anyone have experience with IRS Champion kits and carrying extra weight on long trips?

@Astro_pub If you're set on a self-install, you should definitely check out Roadsmith or DFT since they cover your year and have IRS options. Carrying extra weight is fine. But make sure you watch your suspension and tire pressures on long trips.

Hey @Astro_pub, welcome to the trike world! Since you’re looking at a ’99 Road King, Motor Trike won’t work for self-install, and Champion only covers 2002 and newer. Agree with them that your best options are Roadsmith or DFT. They both have IRS kits and support older Harleys.
