Question about removing the rectifier/regulator

Just curious, what are the possible outcomes of removing the R/R from a trike and relying only on the battery for its electrical power? any advice is appreciated

The battery will not be charging, the ecm will not have power to allow the trike to stay running & sensors will not receive proper voltage.

If you remove the R/R, the battery won't charge while riding, you'll drain it fast, risking electrical failure, its best to keep the R/R unless it's a temporary test

Running it without the R/R means the battery won't recharge, so youre basically on borrowed time before it dies. Plus, without voltage regulation, you could easily damage sensitive electronics. It might start and run briefly, but its not a safe or practical setup longterm

@toodaloo99 You'll run into trouble fast without the R/R since the battery won't recharge and electronics could get fried. It's really only safe for a very short test, not for regular riding.

Hey @toodaloo99, removing the rectifier/regulator isn’t recommended. The battery won’t charge while riding, and unregulated voltage could fry electronics. Only safe for a very short test, not regular use.
